Last Sunday (8/1/17) we packed an esqui with sandwiches and snacks and drove down to Kangaroo Point for a late lunch.

After walking around watching rock climbers, abseilers and fitness enthusiasts we found a bench on the waters edge to sit and eat while seeing the Brisbane river go abouts its day.

Kangaroo point is a riverside spot just East of the City, providing a great view of the CBD and an ideal spot for picnics, walks and bike rides.

While we were eating, a kid pointed out some dolphins splashing around a boat not far from where we sat. We weren’t aware there were dolphins in Brisbane river so this was really exciting! There were also lizards and lorikeets to be seen from our bench as we enjoyed our food and took in the views.

We had intended to stay there until sunset as the view is supposed to be great for photography but got impatient and instead decided to drive up Mount Coot-Tha and watch it from there.
